the camera that changed it all
a lucky find during a solo tokyo trip that helped me marry my love for photography and travel.
i booked a solo tokyo trip not even a week after just landing back home from a japan trip with friends. i think it was about 48 hours and i had a flight back to one of my favorite destinations in the world.
i arrived in tokyo for a solo birthday trip, and although vintage shopping was definitely on the itinerary, this camera was something i was on the hunt for. i struck out the first two or three stores, but i should have known that yodobashi akiba would pull through for me. this camera was on display and i stared at it, nervous to ask someone because i was already prepared to hear, “sold out.”
call it birthday luck or manifestation, but they had it in stock and i went back to my hotel one happy girl. it was the start of my trip and i was eager to get some recipes on this camera and play around with it. i wanted something that would make me reach for an actual camera over my iphone. i wanted something that i didn’t need to constantly comb through and clear storage for.
i’ve now owned this camera for nearly half a year, and it’s travelled with me everywhere since. i’m excited to share my images from those trips alongside itineraries, hotel stays, things that i’m traveling with, and some occasional postcards from home.
this camera is currently on backorder but available for in-stock notifications. ShopMy Fujifilm X100VI links here.
